Teardrop Camper Trailer

Backyard Budget Teardrop Trailer Project

We found this post and thought it was amazing, not only the fact that the teardrop is just a little different and very well built.  But if you look at all the pictures you will see where this trailer was made.  Looks like to us that it is behind the house in the gravel parking area off the ally, in the snow!  Wow, makes me feel spoiled to have a two car garage.  Incredible, step by step documentation including pictures.  Nice work Werner!  Teardrop Camper Trailer Project  Be sure to see all 25 steps :)

Well, we have gone to lots of places in Colorado, The Sand Dunes, Salida, Sedalia, Howard, Grand Junction, around Colorado Springs ( all of it on the first summer after I built it) , I may need to make a little file of pictures to show a typical outing with what did work, and what may need to be improved, so far my wife has recovered her enthusiasm for camping, as having a nice soft spot with shade and a fan for naps and reading is pretty much all what she wants on a camping ( compared with a hot tent on a hard rocky floor) and my daughter insists on having ” sleep overs” when it snows here ( backyard camping), she loves to watch snow by the windows. And having an oven for pizza and pastries on the mountains is just too much fun on chilly nights.

          WOW!!
Sounds like a great time. My parents are looking at teardrops, my mother is not that enthused and my father wants to build. They have lived in a 28 travel trailer for many years and would like to just get away for the weekend and not have the big production of hauling their house with them. Best of luck to you and keep having fun with your teardrop!!!

Well, after a couple of deep excursions, I have tested the camper at -10 F, and at +110 F, it handled the cold excellent, although I may need to rework the door, as once I got ” frozen in” and had to exit through the window… for the heat I think I may need an air conditioner, I barely could handle 90 degrees up to three in the morning…and there was no trees where I was.

Werner, So good to hear from you, sounds like you have had quite the adventure. Air conditioners are always a good idea. Keep up the good work…
